The Queens are Back!

During the winter months, all the bees in the hives stay inside and cuddle up to keep the queen warm. The boxes are a lot smaller during the winter break.

After their winter sleep - around April - all the boxes are extended by layers and placed in their summer locations where the worker bees are ready to fly out to find the flowers.
